Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Benefits

For 1000s of years Chinese and other eastern nations have used acupuncture and massage to restore, promote and maintain good health, and to give effective relief from pain. The very basic principal on which the TCM is founded is called “qi” or life-force and it flows in meridians which are like streams carrying energy and blood in our bodies. When “qi” flows freely and strongly we’re in a good health, but when it’s disrupted as a result of trauma, emotional upset, poor diet, weather conditions, hereditary issues, the result is illness.

Sessions

About TCM

Generally the first session will take longer than subsequent sessions as I need to gather as much information as possible to identify any underlying patterns of symptoms and decide upon the most effective treatments to be given.

The Session

Once enough information has been collected, the session will continue with a preliminary treatment which could be massage, acupuncture or pressure points.

The length and regularity of subsequent treatment sessions will depend on individual conditions. However a typical treatment session lasts 1 hour.  During a one hour treatment a combination of the following approaches will be used: Cupping, Moxibustion, Guasha, Plum Blossom Needle Treatment, Qikung Breathing Excersizes, Medical Massage (Tui Na) alongside Acupuncture.
